With a son who is legally blind, Lisa Pleasants works to raise funds for research

After her son Brendon was born with X-linked retinoschisis, a genetic condition that leads to macular degeneration, Lisa Pleasants founded MOMS for Sight, a Jacksonville based non-profit which raises money to fund research into retinal degenerative diseases, and participates in the Foundation Fighting Blindness' annual VisionWalk. This year, MOMS for Sight raised $18,000, part of $86,000 raised in Jacksonville for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
